<p>

<h4>
	Legalisation of documents</h4>
<p>
	Documents issued in Egypt will only be valid in Brazil after they are legalised by the Consular Section, at the Brazilian Embassy and translated in Brazil by a Sworn Translator.</p>
<ul>
	<li>
		Birth, Marriage, Divorce, Non-Impediment Certificate, Death and Prosecution/Conviction History Certificates do not require notarisation by a Notary Public, yet have to be legalised by the Consular Section.</li>
	<li>
		Documents bearing stamps and signatures of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs do not require notarisation, yet have to be legalised by the Consular Section.</li>
	<li>
		Certificates of Origin and Invoices do not require notarisation by a Notary Public. Instead, they must bear the stamp and signature of the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, before being submitted to the Consular Section for legalisation.</li>
	<li>
		Declarations in general, powers of attorney, letters of reference and some other documents must be notarised by a Notary Public or Chamber of Commerce before being presented to the Consular Section for legalisation.</li>
	<li>
		Documents issued in other territories must first be legalised by the local Foreign Affairs&#39; Office before being legalised by the Consular Section.</li>

<h4>
	Certification of Copies</h4>
<p>
	Please submit, at the Reception:</p>
<ul>
	<li>
		The original document and a photocopy</li>
	<li>
		A two sided document should be photocopied on the same page leaving the reverse blank to bear the consular authentication label.</li>
	<li>
		Each page should contain photocopies of the same document only i.e. copies of Identity Card and CPF, for example, should not be mixed.</li>
	<li>
		Four pages of a passport can be photocopied on a single page leaving the reverse blank to bear the consular authentication label.</li>

<h4>
	Travel authorization for children under 18</h4>
<p>
	In accordance with Law nr. 8.069/90 - &quot;Estatuto da Crian&ccedil;a e do Adolescente&quot; (Child and Adolescent Code) and Resolution 74/2009 from &quot;Conselho Nacional de Justi&ccedil;a&quot;, children under 18 years of age travelling in the company of one parent only, or unaccompanied, or in the company of a third party, will have to comply with the following rules:</p>
<ul>
	<li>
		The Brazilian Law requires brazilian nationals to enter and leave the country on their their Brazilian Passoprts, even though they might hold another passport;</li>
	<li>
		Brazilian parent must complete travel authorisation for children under 18 with the details of their brazilian passports;</li>
	<li>
		The parents must present two &ldquo;Autoriza&ccedil;&atilde;o de Viagem&rdquo; forms, duly-filled and signed by one or both parents;</li>
	<li>
		When the absent parent is a Brazilian national residing abroad, his signature must be certified at the Consular Section; a valid Brazilian passport or Identity card must be presented;</li>
	<li>
		When the absent parent is a foreign national residing abroad, his signature must be certified by a Notary Public in ONE original of the form, which must then be presented along with the other original (both duly filled and signed) to the Consular Section for legalisation;</li>
	<li>
		When the absent parent is in Brazil, he/she must send the other parent residing abroad a copy of the &quot;Autoriza&ccedil;&atilde;o para Viagem de Menor&quot; form duly filled and signed before the Brazilian Notary. The parent residing abroad shall sign the same document and submit it to the Consular authority in whose jurisdiction he resides.</li>
	<li>
		Two 3x4cm photographs, recent and with clear background - 1 attached in each form;</li>
	<li>
		Payment of consular fee;</li>
</ul>
<p>
	<strong>Remark: the first copy of the form should be retained by the Federal Police agent on departure; a copy of the minor&rsquo;s passport or custody paper should be attached to it. The second copy should be kept by the minor or his/her travel companion.</strong></p>
<p>
	Different forms are available for <a href="http://sistemas.mre.gov.br/kitweb/datafiles/Cairo/en-us/file/10_Port.pdf">1 (one)</a>, <a href="http://sistemas.mre.gov.br/kitweb/datafiles/Cairo/en-us/file/11_Port.pdf">2 (two)</a> or <a href="http://sistemas.mre.gov.br/kitweb/datafiles/Cairo/en-us/file/12_Port.pdf">3 (three)</a> travelling minors.</p>
<p>
	Incomplete forms will not be accepted</p>

<h4>
	Power of Attorney <em>(by non-Brazilian citizens, for use in Brazil)</em></h4>
<p>
	A Power of Attorney is a document empowering another person to act and sign official documents on your behalf.<br />
	<strong>Non-Brazilian citizens wishing to grant powers of attorney for use in Brazil must have them drawn by a Notary Authority in Egypt, and then:</strong></p>
<ul>
	<li>
		have the document legalised by the Consular Section of the Brazilian Embassy in Cairo</li>
	<li>
		have the legalised document translated into Portuguese by a sworn translator in Brazil</li>
</ul>
<br />
<p>
	<strong>Non-Brazilian citizens wishing to grant powers of attorney for use in Brazil can have them drawn by the Consular Section of the Embassy of Brazil in Cairo, provided that they bear:</strong></p>
<ul>
	<li>
		a valid Permanent Residence Visa in Brazil</li>
	<li>
		a valid &ldquo;Carteira de Identidade para Estrangeiro&rdquo; (Identity Card for Foreigners)</li>
	<li>
		a valid &ldquo;CPF&rdquo; (Taxpayer Registry number)</li>
